Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 August 2026

OwnClean is designed to respect your privacy. It collects no personal data.

No data collection. OwnClean has no servers of its own. It contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs that collect information about you. On the App Store, its privacy label reads Data Not Collected.

Your photos. OwnClean asks for access to your photo library so it can measure, compare and show you your own photos and videos. This access is used only to do the work you ask for, on your device. Photos are never uploaded, never copied off the device except to a location you choose yourself, and never shared with the developer or anyone else.

On-device data only. OwnClean stores a scan index (sizes, dates and small numeric fingerprints of your photos — no images), your deletion basket and a 30-day record of deletions, the kind and a one-line summary of any screenshots you asked it to read, and a bookmark to any folder you granted it access to. All of this is saved locally using Apple's standard on-device storage. It is never transmitted off the device, and it is removed if you delete the app.

Text recognition. If you ask OwnClean to read your screenshots, the recognition runs on your device using Apple's own frameworks. The recognised text is not stored and is not sent anywhere.

Exports. When you export photos to a drive or folder, the files and the accompanying manifest are written only to the destination you choose. The developer receives nothing.

No account. OwnClean requires no account, email address or password.

Permissions. OwnClean requests access to your photo library, and to any folder you explicitly grant through the system file picker. It does not request access to your camera, contacts, location, or any other personal data.

Purchases. OwnClean is a paid app. Any purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store; the developer never receives your payment details. Apple's handling of that transaction is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.

Children. OwnClean collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes. If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
