OwnSafe is designed so that your data stays yours. In short: OwnSafe collects no personal data, has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers. The developer cannot see your cards or any information you store in the app.
OwnSafe is developed by Oskari Rauta. For any privacy question or request, contact us through the support page at rauta.eu.
None. OwnSafe does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data with the developer or any third party. There is no account to create and no sign-in.
Everything you enter into OwnSafe — cards, codes, images, notes — is stored:
iCloud storage and sync are provided by Apple and governed by Apple's privacy policy. Your sensitive card values are end-to-end encrypted before they sync, so they are unreadable to Apple — and to us. The developer has no access to your iCloud data and operates no server that receives it.
If you use the card scanner, the camera image is processed entirely on your device to read text or a barcode. Images are not uploaded, transmitted, or stored by the scanner.
OwnSafe contains no analytics, no tracking technologies, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. It does not build a profile of you and shows no ads.
If you export an encrypted backup file, it is created on your device and you choose where it goes (for example Files, Messages, or Mail). OwnSafe does not send backups anywhere. Once a backup leaves the app, it is handled by whatever service you send it to, under that service's terms.
OwnSafe is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. Because the app collects no personal data, it collects none from children either.
Because OwnSafe holds no personal data about you on any server we control, there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct, or delete on our side. You are always in full control of your data: you can edit or delete individual cards, use “Reset vault” to remove the master credential and encryption key, and delete the app to remove its local data. Data in your iCloud is managed through your Apple account.
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the current version on the support page at rauta.eu.
