MyDrafts is a logbook app that turns your project photos and notes into a book. It is built to keep your data yours. This policy explains what that means in practice.

The short version

MyDrafts has no servers of its own and no analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind. Your projects are stored in your own iCloud account and synced between your devices by Apple. The developer never receives, sees, or stores your content.

What the app stores, and where

Everything you create in MyDrafts — projects, chapters, log entries, notes, photos you take or add, part numbers, budget figures, tags, favourites, and the profile you set for yourself (nickname, colour, short bio) — is stored in the private database of your personal iCloud account using Apple's iCloud (CloudKit), and cached on your device. Apple syncs it across the devices signed in to your Apple Account.

We operate no back-end servers. This content is not sent to us or to any third party. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Shared projects

If you choose to share a project, the people you invite can view and add to that project through Apple's iCloud sharing (CKShare). Within a shared project, each participant's contributions and the profile they set (a name from their Apple Account, plus any nickname, colour, and bio) are visible to the other participants of that project. Sharing is entirely under your control: you choose whether to share, whom to invite, and when to stop sharing. This data is exchanged through your and your collaborators' iCloud accounts, not through us.

Device permissions we ask for

  • Camera — only so you can photograph your project while you work on it.
  • Photo Library — only so you can add existing photos, including the "Camera Roll Rescue" import that backfills your earlier build photos.
  • Notifications (optional) — if you turn them on, MyDrafts shows calm, local notifications about activity in your shared projects. These are scheduled on your device; there is no push server and no notification data leaves your device.

We do not request or access your location, contacts, microphone, health data, or advertising identifier.

What we do NOT do

  • No advertising, and no ad identifiers (no IDFA).
  • No analytics or usage tracking, first- or third-party.
  • No third-party SDKs that collect data.
  • No selling or sharing of personal data with data brokers.
  • No account to create with us, and no email or password collected by us — MyDrafts uses your device's existing Apple Account.

Because we never receive your content, we cannot read it, recover it, or hand it to anyone.

Keeping and deleting your data

You are in control of your data at all times. You can delete individual entries or whole projects inside the app, and you can remove MyDrafts' data from iCloud using the app's erase option or your device's iCloud settings. Any backup file you export from MyDrafts is a plain file created at your request and shared only where you choose to send it. Because your content lives in your own iCloud, deleting it there removes it — we hold no copy to delete on your behalf.

Children

MyDrafts is not directed at children and is rated 4+. It collects nothing from anyone.

Your rights

Since we do not collect or hold your personal data, there is no data held by us to access, correct, export, or erase. Requests concerning data stored in your iCloud are handled through Apple. If you have any privacy question about the app itself, contact us at the address above.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will post the updated version at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
